Arrival - Saturday Oct. 24th

MEET AND GREET DINNER

We will check into our rooms at Kathmandu’s 5 Star Hotel “THE SQUARE”.

We will be staying at this hotel for 3 evenings.

Join us for our OPENING RECEPTION /MEET and GREET on the Square’s rooftop restaurant. (Meal not included in retreat fees)

Day 1 - Sunday Oct. 25th

Kathmandu

MONASTERY, UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE OF SWAYAMBHU MONKEY TEMPLE AND PUJA

Experience a puja, a Hindu ritual of worship that involves a variety of devotional practices, such as prayer, songs, and offerings, to honour a deity.

Visit a local Buddhist monastery in the Tibetan tradition, beautifully situated on a hill overlooking the Kathmandu Valley.

Day 2 - Monday Oct. 26th

Kathmandu

FOUNDRY, MUSICAL PROCESSION & FULL MOON

Visit our foundry for a rare viewing of how Himalayan singing bowls are made.

Participate in a Nepali Traditional musical procession. Experience the full "Hunter's" moon in Kathmandu.

Day 3 - Tuesday Oct. 27th

Bhaktapur

THANGKA ART, PALACE EXPLORATIONS AND SUNSET

Visit the Unesco Wold Heritage site Bhaktapur Durbar Square, a former royal palace complex.

Participate in a Thangka Art lesson, and then spend the afternoon exploring the rich heritage of these 14th and 15th century temples.

After sunset we’ll drive to NAGARKOT where we can settle into our rooms at the 5 Star Soultee Resort. We will stay at this resort for 5 nights.

Day 4 - Wednesday Oct. 28th

Nagarkot

SUSPENSION BRIDGE, WATERFALLS AND LESSONS

Wake up at the Soaltee, Nagarkot’s 5 Star resort. Visit the Bageshwori Nagarkot 250 meter Suspension Bridge. Learn about Less is More as we hike to the Nagarkot Waterfalls. Journal at the falls.

In the afternoon, new students will stay at the resort learning the basics of the Himalayan singing bowls.

Former students and all other attendees can pick from the activities offered at Soaltee Resort

Day 5 - Thursday Oct. 29th

Nagarkot

LESSONS, PEACE TEMPLE & 5 ELEMENT THEORY

New students will spend the morning at the resort continuing to learn the basics of the Himalayan singing bowls. Former students and all other retreat attendees can choose from a variety of Soaltee Resort activities.

In the afternoon, everyone will travel to the Peace Temple (Buddha Peace Park) which is carved into the side of the Himalayan foothills, offering stunning views of the Himalayas and the Kathmandu Valley. Here you will learn about the 5 Element theory.

Day 6 - Friday Oct. 30th

HANDS ON TRAINING OR FREE TIME

All students will spend the full day at the resort as they work hands on with the singing bowls and 5 Element Theory. All other retreat attendees can choose from a variety of activities hosted by Soaltee resort.

Day 8 - Sunday Nov. 1st

Nagarkot

HANDS ON TRAINING, CHANGU NARAYAN TEMPLE

All students will spend the morning at the resort as they work hands on with the singing bowls and 5 Element Theory. All other retreat attendees can choose from a variety of activities hosted by Soaltee resort.

In the afternoon, everyone visits the UNESCO World Heritage Site Changu Narayan Temple. Students will have a lesson at the Temple.

Day 9 - Monday Nov. 2nd

Kathmandu

SOUND JOURNEY NEPAL STUDIO, SHOPPING IN THAMEL

Say goodbye to the Soaltee resort and drive back to Kathmandu. Visit the Sound Journey Nepal Studio and play with hundreds of singing bowls.

Get dropped off in the Thamel shopping district, known for its historic narrow pathways and is the city’s main nightlife zone.

Day 10 - Tuesday Nov. 3rd

Kathmandu

DURBAR SQUARE, CELEBRATION DINNER

Visit UNESCO World Heritage Site Durbar Square. With the highest concentration of old structures, the square is home to several palaces, courtyards, and temples. It is also known as "The Museum of Temples" because there are over 50 temples in Durbar square.

Celebration Dinner with traditional music and then back to your hotel in Thamel for one last night. (Meal not included in retreat fees)

There are 2 options for this retreat.

STUDENT: You can attend as a student and partake in all trainings and excursions for an investment of $5,300 CAD*
(Approx. $3,650 USD, NPR 535573)*

EXPLORER: Everything BUT the hands-on training at the resort. This option is great for friends and family that may want to join the trip, but not partake in the student trainings. $4,300 CAD*
(Approx. $2,950 USD, NPR 434521)*

*Both options DO NOT INCLUDE flights, food, or accommodations.*

We have arranged special room blocks at three 5-star hotels for our guests at a discounted rate. You are welcome to book your accommodations at any of these hotels or choose a different place to stay. However, please note that buses will only pick up and drop off participants at these three designated hotels.

Most of the training sessions will take place at the Soaltee Resort in Nagarkot. Be sure to arrive at one of the listed hotels in time for the scheduled pickup. Failure to arrive on time may result in missing the day’s activities.
